)
Guangzhou, July 18 – The inaugural "Good Housing" Design Summit, co-hosted by Design Shenzhen, PolyHarmony Research Institution, and Fengmei Media, successfully concluded on July 18. Centered on the theme "Design Empowers Research: Pioneering New Solutions for Human Habitats," the summit convened over 40 representatives including Guangzhou-based designers, PolyHarmony researchers, and cross-disciplinary design brands. Through in-depth dialogue, participants redefined the concept of "good housing" and sparked fresh perspectives on integrating contemporary design with industrial research.
As a specialized gathering focused on habitat innovation, the summit followed a three-phase framework:
1. “Icebreaking”: Establishing interdisciplinary connections
2. “Transmission”: Sharing research-driven insights
3. “Collision”: Sparking transformative dialogues
This structure fostered an environment of free-flowing ideas and high-efficiency knowledge exchange.
Keynote presentations included:
• Wei Na, Founding Partner & Chief Architect of “WEI architects”, deconstructed neuroaesthetics as a design methodology in her speech "Emotional Design & Neuroaesthetics," establishing a comprehensive theoretical-practical framework.
• Li Youyou, Founder of “YOUYOULI Interior Design”, articulated his residential design philosophy centered on "spatial fluidity," "openness and freedom," and "holistic spaces interacting with nature."
This summit marks Design Shenzhen's significant commitment to advancing human habitats and bridging design with industrial research. It establishes a foundation for future industry exploration. We invite you to join Design Shenzhen 2025 (September 18-21, Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre) – where design innovation meets technological empowerment – to collectively chart new frontiers for future living.
