This roundtable discussion focuses on re-examining the role, value judgement, human-machine relationship and behavioural logic of designers in the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence has long ceased to be just a tool, and has gradually become a co-creator, collaborator, and even an agent for some decisions in the design process. It frees designers from repetitive labour and is reshaping the boundaries and value of creativity. In this era dominated by generative intelligence, how can designers redefine the role of ‘human’?
